In early trade on Tuesday, Asian stocks were shackled by holidays in some regional markets and the United States and the UK.
Japan's Nikkei was down almost 0.1 per cent, while MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan was flat early on Tuesday. China, Hong Kong and Taiwan markets are closed for holidays on Tuesday.
US MARKETS CLOSED
US markets were closed on Monday on account of Memorial Day. On Friday, the Dow Jones Industrial Average index fell 2.67 points, or 0.01 per cent, to settle at 21,080.28.
The S&P 500 index advanced 0.75 points, or 0.03 per cent, to 2,415.82. The Nasdaq Composite index added 4.94 points, or 0.08 percent, to 6,210.19. US stocks will be closed on Monday on account of Memorial Day.
