Benchmark indices ended the session on a positive note, with indices witnessing a surge in the last hour of trade. The Street had witnessed tight range bound movement through the day and ended on record high note.
The Sensex closed up 55.66 points at 30638.26, while the Nifty ended 5.75 points higher at 9518.00. The market breadth, however, was negative as 1,252 shares advanced against a decline of 1,540 shares, while 182 shares were unchanged.
