Sensex, Nifty Cautious Ahead Of GST Panel Meet

Indian benchmark stock indices opened lower than yesterday ahead of the ongoing uncertainty over the GST panel meet beginning from today in Srinagar, markets are also expected to reflect the outcome of the corporate earnings. 

The BSE Sensex opened lower, down 0.63% at 30,466.82 points, while the NSE Nifty was down 0.76% at 9,453.2 points. Yesterday India’s market capitalisation hit $2 trillion for the first time ever, the benchmark Sensex made a record lifetime high of 30,692.45 points while the broader Nifty 50 topped an all-time high of 9,532.6 points.
Asian stocks fell on Thursday in line with global peers, and the dollar nursed deep losses against the yen as uncertainty mounted over US President Donald Trump’s future following reports that he tried to interfere with a federal investigation.
