Sensex Climbs Nearly 150 pts; Nifty 50 Above 9,500

Benchmark indices opened on a strong note on Thursday, ahead of expiry of June series futures and options contracts later in the day. 

The BSE Sensex was trading 145 points, or 0.47 per cent, higher at 30,979.25. The Nifty 50 was trading 53.45 points, or 0.56 per cent, higher at 9,544. Midcap and smallcap indices rose up to 0.70 per cent.
