Pace Research Closing Bell : Nifty Ends Below 9800, Sensex Marginally Higher

Equity benchmarks erased gains due to profit booking in late trade but still managed to end at fresh record closing highs.

The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 31.45 points at 31,747.09 and the 50-share NSE Nifty rose 15 points to 9,786.05.
