Benchmark indices continued to trade lower in afternoon but midcaps turned positive, with the Nifty Midcap rising 0.10 percent. The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 400.42 points or 1.16 percent at 34,012.74 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 118.90 points or 1.12 percent to 10,458.The market breadth also improved as about 1,414 shares declined against 1,136 advancing shares on the BSE.
