The 30-share BSE Sensex was down 409.73 points or 1.24 percent at 32,596.54 and the 50-share NSE Nifty fell 116.75 points or 1.15 percent to 9,998.05. Nifty Midcap was down nearly 300 points. Union Bank, IDBI Bank, Bank of India, Andhra Bank, OBC, Allahabad Bank, Jaiprakash Associates, SAIL, MMTC, DHFL, Adani Enterprises, Balrampur Chini, Bajaj Hindusthan, Dalmia Bharat, Fortis Healthcare were down up to Persistent Systems, ICICI Lombard, L&T Technology, Dish TV and Manappuram Finance gained up to 4 percent.
