The markets opened higher on Wednesday taking cues from their Asian peers amid ongoing trade war tensions between the US-China. Trade tensions between the US and China showed few signs of easing, with a White House trade adviser saying that Beijing underestimated the US President’s resolve to impose more tariffs. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 287.26 points, or 1.15 per cent, to 24,700.21, the S&P 500 lost 11.18 points, or 0.40 per cent, to 2,762.57 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 21.44 points, or 0.28 per cent, to 7,725.59.
