Pace Research Closing Bell : Sensex Gains 266 Points Led By HDFC Twins, RIL; Nifty Settles At 10769

BSE Sensex closed higher by 266.80 points, or 0.75%, to 35,645.40, while the Nifty 50 rose 70 points, or 0.65%, to close at 10,769.90. BSE Sensex and NSE’s Nifty 50 gained on Wednesday, amid mixed sentiment in Asian and US stocks. The Indian rupee strengthened marginally against the US dollar, tracking gains in Asian currencies. Asian markets traded mixed, while the Chinese yuan stood near 11-month lows as the specter of a US-China trade war haunted investors. Wall Street dropped, giving up early gains in a truncated session ahead of the Independence Day holiday. Oil prices were supported as larger-than-expected fall in US stockpiles confounded worries about supply shortage.
