Pace Research Morning Bell : Sensex Manages Above 33,000 Ahead Of WPI Inflation Data

Indian stock markets opened flat on Tuesday owing to the mixed sentiments over remaining second-quarter earnings. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) for October has accelerated to a seven-month high of 3.5% from a year ago, mainly driven by higher prices of housing, fuel, pan, tobacco and intoxicants, after going down in the previous month, government data showed on Monday. BSE Sensex opened 43.53 points or 0.13% at 32,990.03 while NSE Nifty lost 1.55 points or 0.02% 10,223.4.  The Indian rupee opened higher by 9 paise at 65.33 per dollar on Tuesday versus 65.42 Monday. WallStreet Hits Record High As Investors Eye Mergers

US stocks climbed to record highs on Monday, helped by optimism about merger activity and as investors bet that a Republican plan to cut corporate taxes would bolster earnings.
The DowJones Industrial Average inched up 0.04 percent to end at 23,548.42, while the S&P 500 gained 0.13 percent to 2,591.13. The Nasdaq Composite added 0.33 percent to 6,786.44.

PSU Bank Stocks Up; Union Bank Surges Over 4%

Shares of PSU bank stocks, including Union Bank of IndiaBSE 3.92%, Oriental Bank of Commerce BSE 2.52%, Bank of India and Syndicate BankBSE 2.34% were trading up in afternoon trade on Monday. The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 0.87 per cent up at 4,010. 
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was 24 points up at 10,477, while the BSE Sensex was 121 points up at 33,806.
