Gold Climbs To 9-1/2 Month High On Rising North Korea Tensions

The price of gold rose to its highest in nine and a half months on Tuesday as mounting geopolitical tensions over North Korea’s launch of a missile that flew over Japan stoked demand for safe-haven assets, while weighing heavily on the dollar and equities. Spot gold rose 0.5 percent to $1,316.66 an ounce by 0048 GMT, after earlier touching its highest since early November at $1,322.33. It gained 1.4 percent in the previous session. US gold futures or December delivery were up 0.5 percent to $1,322.20 per ounce. 
US stock futures and Asian share markets tumbled on Tuesday, while the yen jumped to four-month highs against the dollar after North Korea’s missile flew over northern Japan, setting up a tense start to trading for markets in the region. South Korea and Japan said the missile North Korea launched early on Tuesday landed in Pacific waters east of Hokkaido after flying over the northern Japanese island, in a sharp escalation of tensions on the Korean peninsula.

Gold Inches Down; Investors Shift Focus To Jackson Hole Summit

Gold edged lower on a firm dollar early on Wednesday, with investors looking for direction from geopolitical headlines and a key annual central banking conference this week in Jackson Hole in the United States. Spot gold slipped 0.1 percent to $1,283.10 an ounce by 0111 GMT, after shedding 0.5 percent in the previous session. US gold futures for December delivery were down 0.2 percent at $1,288.70 per ounce. 
Asian stocks edged higher on Wednesday to extend a global rally spurred by gains for tech shares on Wall Street and miners in Europe, while the dollar was buoyant against the euro and yen ahead of the Jackson Hole gathering later in the week. Gold Futures Down Rs 111, Silver Futures Down Rs 138 On Weak Global Cues

Gold prices drifted lower by Rs 111 to Rs 29,280 per 10 gram in futures trade today as participants lightened their positions at prevailing levels amid a weak trend overseas. In futures trade, gold for delivery in December was trading Rs 111 or 0.38 per cent down at Rs 29,280 per 10 gram on the Multi Commodity Exchange with a business turnover of one lot. The metal for delivery in October too fell by Rs 104 or 0.36 per cent to Rs 29,179 per 10 gram in 459 lots. Analysts said apart from profit-booking by speculators at existing levels, metal’s fresh weakness in the overseas markets weighed on gold futures. In international market, gold lost 0.23 per cent to USD 1,288.30 an ounce in Singapore.

Silver fell Rs 138 to Rs 38,950 per kg in futures trade today amid a weakening trend overseas amid profit-booking by speculators. Silver for delivery in September was trading lower by Rs 138 or 0.35 per cent to Rs 38,950 per kg in a business turnover of 670 lots in futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX). Gold Prices Steady, But Off 9 month Highs As Dollar Firms

Gold prices held steady early on Monday as the dollar firmed, with the precious metal trading below an intra-day nine-month high hit on Friday when political and security concerns jangled investors’ nerves and stoked demand. Spot gold was nearly unchanged at $1,283.30 an ounce by 0111 GMT, after surging to its highest in over nine months on Friday at $1300.80.
US gold futures for December delivery slipped 0.2 percent to $1,289.40 per ounce. क्रूड में तेजी, सोने में मामूली गिरावट

अमेरिका में क्रूड उत्पादन और भंडार गिरने की खबरों के चलते कच्चे तेल के दाम में तेजी आई है। फिलहाल ब्रेंट क्रूड करीब 0.5 फीसदी की मजबूती के साथ 54.5 डॉलर के करीब कारोबार कर रहा है। वहीं, नायमैक्स पर डब्ल्यूटीआई क्रूड 0.5 फीसदी की तेजी के साथ 51.3 डॉलर पर कारोबार कर रहा है।

Commodity Trading Tips : Gold, Silver Trade Flat In Early Trade

Gold and Silver futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) were trading on a flat note in early trade on Tuesday on the back of subdued demand of precious metals from jewellers, industries and retailers. 
The yellow metal was trading 0.03 per cent, or Rs 10, down at Rs 28935 per 10 gram, while the white metal was trading 0.08 per cent, or Rs 34, down at Rs 42,395 per 1 kg. Precious metals prices declined for the third straight session on Monday, but hovered above Frid . 

Zink :

Zinc futures traded 0.70 per cent lower at Rs 184.55 per kg on Monday after speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak trend at the domestic spot market. 

In futures trading at Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month declined by Rs 1.30, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 184.55 per kg. It clocked a business turnover of 669 lots. 

Lead :

Amid sluggish domestic demand and profit-booking by speculators, lead prices softened 0.83 per cent to Rs 149.30 per kg in futures trade. 

At Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March month moved down by Rs 1.25, or 0.83 per cent to Rs 149.30 per kg in business turnover of 434 lots.

Copper :

Copper futures traded 0.35 per cent lower at Rs 397.10 per kg as speculators offloaded bets.At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in April shed Rs 1.40, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 397.10 per kg, in a business turnover of 831 lots. 

Crude palm oil :

Crude palm oil prices were up by 1.11 per cent to Rs 545.60 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in enlarging positions, driven by a firm demand at the spot market.
