Gold Steady, Dollar Hovers At Near Nine-Month Lows

Gold held steady early Monday, ahead of the U.S. Independence day holiday, as the dollar hovered at near nine-month lows hit last week on signs of monetary tightening by global central banks. Spot gold was nearly flat at $1,241.04 per ounce at 0043 GMT. It fell over 2 percent in the month of June, its first monthly decline this year. US gold futures for August delivery fell 0.1 percent to $1,240.80 per ounce.

The dollar edged off a nine-month low against a basket of currencies early on Monday, but it remained shaky as expectations of central banks in Europe moving away from accommodative monetary policies supported peers like the euro and sterling. Holdings at the SPDR Gold Trust, the world’s largest gold-backed exchange-traded fund, fell 0.14 percent to 852.50 tonnes on Friday from 853.68 tonnes on Thursday. Crude Oil Prices Firm, Set For Biggest Weekly Gain Since Mid-May

Crude oil futures on Friday were on track for their biggest weekly gain since mid-May, ending five weeks of losses with prices underpinned by a decline in U.S. output. U.S. crude futures have added 5.1 percent this week, while benchmark Brent has gained 4.7 percent, marking the biggest rise for both markets since the week ending May 19. U.S. crude was trading up 0.7 percent, or 29 cents, at $45.22 a barrel at 0223 GMT on Friday, with Brent climbing 0.6 percent, or 28 cents, to $47.70 a barrel.

Oil prices received momentum from Wednesday's U.S. data and the market rejected the lows that we saw. There are two key drivers. One is U.S supply side response to low oil prices. We could see more gains if there is a further drop in oil output, and the other factor is a weaker U.S. dollar. Meanwhile, the American Petroleum Institute was due to release stockpile data for the latest week later in the session.

Gold Steady, Heads For Third Weekly Fall

Gold held steady on Friday
above a five-week low touched earlier this week, supported by technical's, but the metal was still on track for a third weekly fall.

Crude Futures Snap Three Days Losing Streak

Crude oil futures got some relief and snapped their three days losing streak on Thursday. Though, the crude managed to pare some of the losses of last couple of sessions but sentiment remained bearish as investors continue to fret about rising global stockpiles. OPEC members are in talks about making further cuts in oil production, according to Iran's oil minister. In May, Opec and non-Opec members agreed to extend production cuts for a period of nine months until March, but stuck to production cuts of 1.8 million bpd agreed in November last year.

Benchmark crude oil futures for July delivery ended up by $0.21 or 0.5 percent to $42.74 on the New York Mercantile Exchange. In London, Brent crude for July delivery ended up by 1.03 percent to $45.27 on the ICE. Iran Says OPEC Considering Deeper Output Cuts, Delegates Sceptical

OPEC members are considering further oil output cuts but should wait until the effect of the current reduced level of production is made clear, Iran said on Wednesday, hinting at possible further OPEC action after oil sank to a seven-month low. OPEC and allied outside producers agreed on May 25 to extend an existing supply cut into 2018, but oil has declined sharply since on rising production from the United States and Nigeria and Libya, two OPEC members exempt from cutting output.

We are in discussions with OPEC members to prepare ourselves for a new decision, Iranian oil minister Bijan Zanganeh said after a cabinet meeting, according to the website for the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB). But making decisions in this organisation is very difficult because any decision will mean production cuts for the members. Gold At Three-Week Low On Firmer Dollar, U.S. Jobs Data

Gold fell to a three-week low on Thursday, weighed down by a stronger dollar as investors began to assess the potential for another U.S. rate hike later in the year, supported by data showing a strong U.S. jobs market. The losses in gold were limited, however, with bullion underpinned by myriad global uncertainties, including a report that U.S. President Donald Trump was under investigation.

Just like in previous rate hikes, the next day the market starts looking at the probability of the next hike because everything was factored in beforehand. The U.S. Federal Reserve raised interest rates by a notch as expected on Wednesday and indicated further tightening before the end of the year. For More Information About Commodity Advisory Firm Please Visit : www.paceresearchindia.com and Call : 8817774774

Oil Prices Fall On OPEC Output Increase, Rising U.S. Crude Stocks

Oil prices fell by one percent early on Wednesday after data showed a build in U.S. crude stocks and OPEC reported a rise in its production despite its pledge to cut back.

U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures CLc1 were at $45.94 per barrel, down 52 cents, or 1.1 percent.
